The Hidden Danger That's Threatening Our Daughters

Our daughters are in danger.

There's an epidemic facing our young ones, and no one's talking about it. I only recently had my eyes opened to the situation, but I'm here to break the silence.
This is the face of fear.

Tank tops.

Yes, tank tops. Young girls going around with bare shoulders. I'm not even sure how our society got to a place where it was deemed acceptable for a tot to prance around in a spaghetti strap sundress, but something needs to be done about it. Take a look at these facts*:

- 67% of girls who are allowed to wear tank tops drop out of high school.

- Teen pregnancy is 82% more likely in a girl who was raised in a bare-shoulder household.

- 73% of the female homeless population was allowed to wear spaghetti straps before they were 18.

- Mothers of bare-shouldered girls are 89% more likely to consume alcohol weekly.

You know that Not Blessed Mama is always interested in important causes. That's why I'm starting the MABS Foundation- Mothers Against Bare Shoulders. If you take just a moment today to make a contribution to MABS, 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to rehabilitating a sweet, innocent child who has suffered from living a life with her shoulders exposed. With your generosity, these girls will have a chance at living a normal, functional life. A shoulders-covered life. Don't we owe it to the younger generation? Give our daughters a chance. Donate to MABS today. Thank you.

  1. Well.... I will say modesty had gone out the window for most girls these days. Clothing that was once acceptable only for prostitutes is now the fashion norm. I don't mean women dress "like" prostitutes these days, I am saying that literally, hooker fashion is now mainstream fashion.

Hemlines are so short they are practically not even there... and of course, spaghetti straps are fine for everyone, including 3 year olds. What does it say about how our society values our women when something so precious as our bodies are on constant display for public consumption? Hmmmmm...

  2. omg, we're raising little ho's. We MUST stop it! ;)

  3. OMG, blogger won't let me comment on my own blog! jerks!
    blueviolet, LOL!
Las Vegas Mama, I agree with you- there are a lot of skanks out there. But I maintain that girls needing their shoulders covered is utter ridiculousness.

  4. lmao,

I agree in general that shorts are too short for young ladies and there is a lot of clothing that is simply too old, but tank tops with a modest cut are not so much a problem for society. Nice stats!

  5. oooh you're sarcastic. ha ha Why stop at covering their shoulders? Let's bring back the full body swim dress. Then none of us would have to worry about dieting every summer. :-)

  6. lol! when my oldest daughter went from the toddler section to the next one, OMG! It caused the Oooo...eww. ah, no way would I ever buy that skimpy thing they call clothing reaction!
