Hello, my dear mama friends. Today's off-topic tantrum is brought to you by none other than those atrocities called high heels. On their own, I don't think they're that bad. Sure, they're uncomfortable, bad for your feet, expensive.... but it doesn't bother me when I see people wear them. Some are really cute.....
These beauties are by a company called Iron Fist and I am a little infatuated with them. I mean, high heels and zombies? Pure genius. Alas, you do not see many plus sized mamas flitting about in high heels, and there is a reason for that.
BUT, what has really been irking me lately (irking- isn't that a great word? If it's a word) has been these pregnant celebrities I see out on the red carpet in their stilettos.
Christina Applegate- doesn't she look gorgeous? And adorable? Glowing? YES, she does! And when she gets home and her feet swell to twice their normal size, she's not going to be glowing so much anymore. Please, pregnant celebrity mamas, ditch the high heels. It hurts me to watch you walk around in them. It can't feel good. It's gotta be dangerous- can't the surgeon general chime in on this? Grant a reprieve to all pregnant woman from heels over an inch? It's something I'm going to work on.
I am a new follower via Monday blog hop. Would love if you could follow me back at http://frugalcouponingmommy3.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine wearing heels while I was pregnant! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh I hate heels. I hated flats when I was pregnant too. I wanted to go barefoot or in slippers. I got away with flip flops at work because my feet were like 3 times their size.
ReplyDeleteI wore my heels through both of my pregnancies, but my feet never got swollen so they didn't hurt anymore than normal. I also indulged in pedicures while I was preggers (which I don't normally do) so my feet were sort of the only part of my body I wanted to show off :)
ReplyDeleteI am completely, totally, irrevocably in love with those zombie shoes!
ReplyDeleteCelebs are never really pregnant. Someone else has their children, while they slip ever larger pillows under their clothes, then appear as a size six on a magazine cover 18 minutes after their babies are born. :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm your newest follower from the Monday Hops. You have a great blog here, can't wait to read more! Stop by my blog sometime and say Hi :)

I totally came back over (even though I was here WAY late last night) because I forgot to Follow you.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, I've never been very good about wearing heels. However I do own a pretty good (sized) collection. I bought a beautiful pair when I was 7 months preggo with BB, and now they're too big. (Dang swollen feet!!)

ReplyDeleteI hear ya! I can't imagine wearing high heels while pregnant. I HATE wearing them any time! I sure the heck wouldn't when pregnant.
ReplyDeleteBut I do love Christina Applegate!
I love those shoes too! I don't wear high heels because I am unbelievably clumsy flat footed. I pointed out a pregnant lady wearing huge heels and I was like "I could never do that while pregnant?" and he reminded me that I can never wear heels.
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn high heels for about 10 years! I remember my husband carrying me to the car because my feet hurt so much.
